Science in the Pub

Our next Science in the Pub will be held Monday, September 25, 2017. 

PIC’s popular Science in the Pub sessions allow a broad range of stakeholders in the Ontario poultry industry to gather in an informal and lively atmosphere to discuss, debate and share different perspectives on timely topics and issues affecting the poultry industry.  Come out and share your perspective on issues that affects us all. Session details:

The topic for this year’s event is Public Perception of Commercial Poultry Welfare. Presentations and round-table discussions will address concerns the general public has regarding commercial poultry welfare, how consumers currently perceive animal welfare in the industry and what agriculture literacy groups are doing to promote public trust. Presentations/discussion will also address if what these groups are doing is enough and question the importance of public perception overall.

Featured speakers include Colin Siren, Research Director of Kynetec Canada Inc. and Bruce Kelly, Programs Manager of Farm and Food Care

Doors open at 4:30 pm, session starts at 5:00 pm.  Registration fee is $30.00 for general admission and $10.00 for students.  Registration fee includes wings and appetizers.  There will be a cash bar available.
