Health, welfare, nutrition, productivity, food safety, environment – those are key words in the concept of the Poultry Health Research Network (PHRN). Their main objective is to establish a network of poultry researchers and poultry health specialists to address a wide range of issues – from basic geology, to environmental concerns, to poultry disease, production and welfare. The University of Guelph has a long-standing commitment to animal health with one of the largest groups of poultry scientists and poultry experts in North America. This combined with their state of the art facilities make Guelph the ideal hub for global poultry research.
The PHRN at the University of Guelph consists of 40 individuals from the University of Guelph, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, and the poultry industry organizations, including the Poultry Industry Council and the Canadian Poultry Research Council.
