About the Poultry Industry Council

The Poultry Industry Council (PIC) is a registered, Canadian charity that was formed in 1997 as a result of a merger between the Ontario Poultry Council and the Poultry Industry Centre. The activities of PIC are made possible through the efforts of a twelve-person volunteer Board representing both producers and the poultry industry, along with 3 full-time staff members.

The Poultry Industry Council works to stay current on innovative research, resources, training, and learning opportunities to ensure the poultry sector is staying ahead of the curve.  Each year, the board members and staff work collaboratively with the industry to build a new strategic direction and business plan.  This way PIC’s primary activities are targeted specifically to industry and producer needs.

Each year we bring together producers, industry, veterinarians, and academia to a range of workshops and events.  Our National Poultry Show, hosted each year in April, is a 65-year tradition that celebrates and showcases all the best the industry has to offer.

PIC’s last Annual General Meeting was held on October 22, 2020.
