Introducing the Profitable Poultry Club
You’re getting started in the business of poultry farming and you could use a little advice and insight on the tricky parts of business, production and animal welfare, but where to turn?
You’ll be glad to know that the Poultry Industry Council has your back!
This year we are piloting our very first Profitable Poultry Club, led by poultry producer Braydon Olszowka and PIC’s Charlotte Wall.
How does it work?
Newly started or nearly launched broiler or turkey producers are invited to apply using this application form. Once accepted, you will be automatically registered for the three Producer Update sessions, as well as the club meetings.
Live via Zoom this year’s schedule is as follows:
|Producer Update Webinars
1:00pm – 4:30pm
|Profitable Poultry Club meeting
6:30pm – 8:00pm
December 9th, 2020
December 16th, 2020
February 10th, 2021
February 17th, 2021
|Business of Birds
February 24th, 2021
March 3rd, 2021
Whether you are newly into poultry or transitioning into the family business, this club will offer you the chance to ask questions from someone who’s been there, from peers who are going through similar challenges, and learn from a leader in the industry.
Each session will have an agenda that guides the group through discussion of common challenges to starting out in the business… topics can include but are not limited to:
- Biosecurity & disease management, environmental management for humans and animals
- Income growth goals, commercial viability and financial sustainability
- Welfare best practices, managing mental health, working in a family dynamic
Join us for an engaging and interactive session after each of the Producer Update series of webinars.

What is the cost to attend?
This year’s pilot program is being offered at the same rate as attending the Producer Updates, $50.00
What is the purpose of the club?
This is a small group learning opportunity that will help you learn more about overcoming areas of challenge in your poultry operation, make new industry connections, and learn more about resources available to help you grow your business.
How long am I part of the club?
The club will formally gather during the sessions, and if after the end of the program the club wants to stay connected, we encourage everyone to join PIC as a member to stay in the know! Membership information can be found here.
This seems like a lot of meetings?
While attendance at the Producer updates is not mandatory it is strongly recommended! In fact, to make them easy to access, they are being recorded and will be available to everyone who is registered within a few days of airing. The club sessions will be held live and are intended to be interactive, so to get something out of the club, you’re committed to minimum three sessions of 1.5 hours each.
