Our sold out September 20, 2020 event on “Climate Change, and Efficient Resource Usage” engaged all who attended.
Keith Currie, President of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and Vice President of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture spoke to us about the facts. He touched on how consumers are looking for low-impact agriculture and, the economic drivers of agriculture that are not going away.
Andrew Heuthorst spoke on the opening of Burnbrae Farms first solar-powered facility based in Oxford County. The farm is the largest solar-powered egg laying farm in Canada producing more power than it uses and how they share power with the adjoining farm.
Jacqui Laporte, Environmental Specialist with OMAFRA spoke on water options for impermeable surfaces while encouraging us to re-think rain water.
